UPDATE: By a majority vote, members present voted to send three of our members to the Solidarity/School Sector Conference in Brandon, Manitoba. A motion to send our trustees on their respective education courses will be presented at our next general meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 3 at Carman Collegiate at 7 p.m. in the Middle Home Ec room.

Annual General Meeting & Election Results
Thank you to everyone who attended our AGM on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at St. Laurent School.
In his last role as CUPE Local 4701 President, Tim Dupont opened the meeting with a review of his and the rest of executive’s work over the last two years, highlighting the many hours of dedication aimed at representing our members. You can view his letter to members as departing Presdient of our local including his best wishes to our new executive here.
Elections then began with CUPE Rep Liz Carlyle leading our members through the process of electing or acclaiming members to positions that were open for re-election, with the following results:

Update to Annual General Meeting Notice for Saturday, October 18 St. Laurent
There was some concern that the AGM is not being held on September 27th as per Section 4(c) our Local’s By-Laws. At the last General Membership Meeting in St Laurent in May, there was a motion put on the floor to hold the AGM in St Laurent this year. There was a second motion by another member put on the floor to have the date changed to Saturday October 18th 2014. Both of these motions were seconded, put to the Members for discussion and debate, then voted on by the Members in attendance in order for these changes to have been implemented.
