Greetings to all CUPE Local 4701 Members!
The new 2015-2016 school year is upon us and I wish everyone a productive and satisfying year ahead!
We have already had our Local’s first General Membership Meeting, held in St. Laurent on Sept. 23rd as well as our Annual General Meeting held in Elie last Saturday, Oct. 3rd. Thank you to all who attended these meetings, shared your opinions & concerns, and cast your votes. A special thanks to our member, Leslie Perreault, for the awesome lunch provided at the AGM.
As we all know, change is constant, and at last week’s AGM, a number of positions were up for nomination within our Local. I would like to send out a big thank you to those members who allowed their names to stand for nomination and welcome those who now hold positions. Your participation in the operation of our Local is truly valued. A new EXECUTIVE CONTACT LIST will be posted shortly, both in your workplace locations and on our website, so please watch for it.
Good communication is likely one of the biggest factors in any organization’s success. THIS IS YOUR LOCAL! WE NEED YOUR INPUT! You are encouraged to contact any of our Executive or your workplace ‘Communicator’ with any suggestions, ideas, inquiries or concerns. Please note that there is an opportunity to submit these here on this website as well.
And of course, your attendance at meetings is your greatest chance of sharing with, and learning from other CUPE members across the division! Once finalized, a list of the year’s remaining four General Meetings, with date, time and location, will also be posted – please consider attending.
In closing, I wish to thank the 2014-2015 Local Executive for their great amount of time and effort in supporting all CUPE Local 4701 members.
