From the President

Update: as of March 25, there has been no Provincial decision for class suspension beyond April 10.

Reminder to contact your supervisor if you have a work related question, concern or issue.

Please feel free to contact anyone on the Exec Committee if you have additional concerns.

At this time, we are doing our best to relay all current information to our members.
Additional note to our members, you will be paid and will not be asked to use your banked sick time to stay home due to work shortage during the weeks of March 23-27 & April 6-10 due to the Covid 19 concern.

Thank you,

Tracey Stephen
President

Message from the President

Dear Members,

At this time, the Division Office is not closing schools or the Division office and will be running on minimal staff. As per my meeting on Wednesday, March 18 with the Division, support staff who have to self-isolate due to a compromised immune system are to fill out the Divisions Workplace Request Form and submit to their Supervisor which will
in turn be submitted to the Superintendent.

The Division is under the direction of Manitoba Health and Manitoba Education, therefore all support staff are considered working even though they are sent home with pay and not using their banked sick days. Support staff have to be on call if needed.
The Locals opinion has always been to support all of its members best interests.
We also believe that our workers should not face any loss of income due to quarantine, self-isolation measures, emergency daycare or shortage of work due to the
Covid 19 concern and wage continuance and benefits should be maintained if it extends beyond April 10.

If any member has a question or comment, please contact your Supervisor
or the Superintendent. Please continue to check the Divisional website for any further updates.

Also, please feel free to email myself or any one on the Executive Committee.

Stay safe,

Tracey Stephen
President
