Strong Strike Mandate

***STRONG STRIKE MANDATE***
Local 4701 held a successful strike mandate vote on August 18, 2021.

There were 109 ballots cast out of 176 members. That meant a 62% turnout.

We held the voting in 2 places: Elie and Carman.

In person voting tallied 62 in favour and 7 not in favour.

Online voting tallied 31 in favour and 9 not in favour.

Therefore, 85% voted in favour of the strike mandate and 15% were not in favour.

I want to thank all of our members who took time out of their summer holidays or work schedules to vote and we understand for those members who were unable to be available.

I want to say a tremendous thank you to Samantha Milling (Local 4701 VP) and Nickole Bernardin (Local 4701 Chief Shop Steward Unit A) for helping me with the posters and the set up and taking down of our voting station(s). Thank you Murielle MacMillian (Local 4701 Secretary and Bargaining Committee member) and Shelly McKay (Bargaining Committee member) for assisting at the voting station(s).

Thank you Stephen Terichow-Parrott (CUPE National Rep) for his support and offering guidance to all our members.
