Please be advised that our AGM will be Saturday, September 28^th 2013 in St. Paul’s School in Elie.

The meeting will be called to order at 10:00am SHARP!!

Lunch will be served as soon as all Elections have been completed

Positions up for Elections are:

• VP
• Secretary
• Chief Shop Steward
• Warden
• 3 year Trustee
• Stewards/Communicators

If you or someone you know are interested in any of these positions, you need to be at the meeting, or notify either Tim Dupont or Lorraine Futros.

Over a third of our membership showed up for our annual year-end windup on Saturday, June 8 at Assiniboine Downs. Members enjoyed a buffet supper complete with salads, soup, several main dishes and sides and a dessert bar. The evening’s entertainment featured live racing with a chance for attendees to try their luck at trying to predict which horse and rider would win, place or show in each of the eight races. The third race of the evening was dedicated to CUPE Local 4701 with members whose names were drawn winning a trip down to the winner’s circle to meet the horse and rider who won the event. There were also a number of names drawn to win $25 gift cards. If you enjoyed the event, please encourage other members you know to attend next year. At the end of the evening members were surveyed to determine if next year’s windup event should be held at Assiniboine Downs, at Celebrations Dinner Theatre or at another venue. Let us know your view.

UPDATE: Although the poll the evening of our event showed a preference for returning to Assiniboine Downs in June 2014, it was by a very slim margin of about a half dozen votes so we will be polling the membership for their preference as well as for additional ideas.
