UPDATE: the executive is currently investigating a new plan that will be cheaper for members. For now, members currently under the existing plan will continue to be covered under that plan.

Our current health plan expires as of June 2014.

Attend the following meeting to find out options for coverage. Two meetings will be held to accomodate members with different work schedules.

Doug Doleman from Mercer, who is the consultant for the PRSD Extended Health Care Plan (EHB), will present information on the new Plan.  He will provide handouts for everyone who is able to attend.

Whether you currently have Blue Cross Benefits or maybe you’re considering EHB’s for you and/or your family, please plan to attend. If you have any thoughts, ideas, comments, concerns or suggestions regarding the upcoming changes to the EHB, this is the place to be.

Our final regular meeting for the year was held at St. Laurent school on Wednesay, May 21 starting at 7 p.m. Our meeting dates for next year were set and will be posted shortly. The bargaining committee continues to meet taking into account concerns brought forward through the member survey. Members voted to hold our annual meeting in St. Laurent next October. As per the practice when other communities hold the annual meeting, St. Laurent will not host a regular meeting next year. The meeting minutes for the May 21, 2014 meeting are available by contacting our executive.

A record number of 130 people attended our year-end windup at the Assiniboine Downs this year and enjoyed a buffet supper complete with salad bar and desserts. Members also had a chance to enjoy the races, with some members winning an opportunity to have their photo taken in the winner’s circle with the winning horse and rider for a race dedicated to our local. Other draws were also held throughout the evening. It was a great chance for members from across the division to get together and have some fun.

There were 20, $25 gift cards purchased and drawn for at the year-end wind up on Saturday the 24 of May.
