Note from the President

As per our Superintendent’s email, the division is following on the direction on Manitoba Health and Manitoba Education.

  •  Direction is that schools remain open until the Department receives direction from the Chief Public Health Officer to close schools completely, it is our position that schools will remain open with staffing levels minimally necessary to operate.  We know that schools will continue to be accessed by staff, as well as custodial, maintenance, and trades personnel, and therefore some degree of “supervisory presence” will also be needed.
  •  Having buildings operating on regular school day hours send a public message that learning continue to happen, appropriate social distancing practices through working from home is being practices to the extent possible, and that parents can still phone or contact the school in the event they wish to speak to the principal or be put in contact with their child’s teacher.
  •  While there are undoubtedly questions and concerns from different employee groups about different working arrangements, those conversations are happening everywhere in the public and private sectors.

Any questions or concerns are to be discussed with you supervisor or the Superintendent.

Take care & stay well.

President.

Message from the President re: COVID-19

Good evening, as per my March 18 meeting with the Division and as per Terry’s email,
it has been decided that staff are to remain at home commencing the week of
March 23rd-March 27th and April 6th-April 10th with pay.

The custodial staff will continue to be at their worksite.

EA’s, your Teachers, Resource Teacher(s) or Principals may have work for you to do at home. We all have to be available for work at any given time.

Also, there is a new Workplace Accommodation Request form if needed from the Supervisors to request to stay home if your immune system is compromised, if a family member’s immune system in your household is compromised or for emergency day care. You will be paid and no personal sick days are to be used.

Remember, we are all in this together! Take care.

If any further questions, please contact your Principal or Supervisor or Terry Osiowy (Superintendent).

Message from the President re: COVID-19

As per the divisional meeting on Monday, March 16 with the Principals, MTS & CUPE Rep(s), all staff are to contact their supervisor or the Superintendent with any questions, concerns or direction.

CUPE presented the numerous concerns that affect all of our support staff members and the Superintendent is awaiting direction from the Province.

Please check the divisional website daily for any updates and to utilize your PRSD email as this is the most important and readily available means of communication.

We will keep members posted via our website if there are any changes.

Thank you,

Tracey Stephen
